Mpox Prevention and Control

Image not found.

Mpox is an infectious illness caused by the monkeypox virus. It spreads through close contact, from mother to child, through contaminated linen, and occasionally from animals to people. Symptoms include a rash typically lasting 2-4 weeks commonly affecting the face, palms and soles, fever, headache, and fatigue.
"We are fully prepared to handle any Mpox infections. Our strict infection prevention and control measures include designated isolation areas for suspected or confirmed cases, specialized equipment, and personal protective gear for our healthcare workers. We strongly encourage hand washing and proper waste and linen management throughout the hospital," said Dr. Watson, our clinical team lead.
Stay safe by avoiding close contact especially sexual contact with infected individuals, practicing good hygiene, and seeking prompt medical attention if needed. Together, we can prevent the spread of Mpox!
